Hello!

My name is Carolyn Lyon and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I’m a junior studying Spanish with a double minor in Sociology/Anthropology and Psychology, and I plan on going to grad school for Linguistic Anthropology.

I was born in Scranton, PA and lived there my whole life until I came to Bethlehem. At Lehigh, I am a TRAC Fellow and a member of the SPEAK peer education group on LGBTQ+ topics. I’m also an intern for the Mountaintop Initiative project LGBT Archives of the Lehigh Valley, where I have worked on developing a museum exhibition of local queer history.

I’ve loved art ever since I was a small child, and have experience working with drawing, painting, mixed media, photography/filmmaking and ceramics. I would say my favorite mediums are watercolor and chalk pastels. I also enjoy playing and listening to music, as well as writing poetry and fiction. Essentially, I love all things creative and I’m really excited to make space for that in my course load!
