Grey Scale Painting Process

It took me a while to post this since I kept forgetting, but here is my final greyscale painting!

Here is my reference photo and under painting, which admittedly is a little dark in some areas and varies in color a little, but otherwise is complete. Also, I think I could add a little more detail into the pillow to the mid right of the painting as well as adding more detail into the big light gray pillow at the top.

Process photos above. I’m probably gonna edit the colors in the pillow a bit and make sure I leave some white on the right side of it like in the reference photo.

I’ve really liked watching your progress especially after today in class! You seriously mix beautiful colors and I really enjoy the overall composition and decision to do you bed as the subject!

Amazing work Teasha! You’ve captured your reference so well and elevated it in so many ways. The only thing I would suggest is going in and emphasizing the darkness of some of your shadows, such as the dark line that runs underneath the gradient pillow, for example. It will really increase the depth of your composition!
